By accessing and using BrightSide Events' services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. These Terms of Service apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use our event planning services across Canada.

If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on this website.

2. Description of Services

BrightSide Events provides professional event planning and coordination services including but not limited to:

  • Wedding planning and coordination
  • Corporate event management
  • Birthday party planning
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Special occasion planning
  • Venue sourcing and vendor coordination

All services are provided subject to availability and in accordance with our professional standards and industry best practices.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients engaging our services agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about event requirements
  • Make timely payments according to agreed schedules
  • Respond promptly to requests for decisions and approvals
  • Respect our team members and vendor partners
  • Comply with venue rules and regulations
  • Obtain necessary permits and insurance as required

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are established in individual service agreements. Generally:

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure services
  • Payment schedules vary based on event complexity and timeline
  • Final payment is due 30 days before event date
  • Late payments may result in service suspension
  • Additional costs for changes or additions will be billed separately

All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless otherwise specified.

5. Cancellation Policy

Event cancellations are subject to the following terms:

  • Cancellations must be made in writing
  • Deposits are non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing
  • Cancellations 90+ days prior: 75% refund of paid amounts (excluding deposit)
  • Cancellations 30-89 days prior: 50% refund of paid amounts (excluding deposit)
  • Cancellations less than 30 days prior: No refund

Force majeure events may be subject to different terms at management discretion.

6. Limitation of Liability

BrightSide Events' liability is limited to the total amount paid for our services. We are not liable for:

  • Acts or omissions of third-party vendors
  • Weather-related complications
  • Venue-related issues beyond our control
  • Guest behavior or accidents
  • Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages

Clients are encouraged to obtain appropriate event insurance for comprehensive coverage.

7. Intellectual Property

All creative concepts, designs, and materials developed by BrightSide Events remain our intellectual property. Clients receive a license to use these materials for their specific event. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of our materials requires written permission.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

We respect client privacy and maintain confidentiality of all event details and personal information. Our privacy practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy. We may use anonymized event photos and testimonials for marketing purposes unless explicitly prohibited by the client.

9. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, government actions, labor disputes, or public health emergencies. In such cases, we will work with clients to reschedule or modify events as circumstances permit.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall first be addressed through good faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of the province where services were provided.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the specific province where services are provided. Any legal action must be brought in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that province.
